The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg celebrates its National Day on 23 June, a moment of pride and joy for all Luxembourgers around the world. Prior to the official ceremonies on the evening of 22 June, hundreds of thousands of people will gather in the capital to celebrate together and admire the fireworks and festive atmosphere.
This year’s National Day also carries special significance as it will be the first celebrated under the reign of His Royal Highness Grand Duke Guillaume, who acceded to the throne, last October, after the 25-year reign of his father, Grand Duke Henri.
Luxembourg is the only Grand Duchy in the world and a constitutional monarchy, where the Grand Ducal family holds a special place in the hearts of Luxembourgers as an important symbol of national identity and independence.
Luxembourg has been described as the green heart of Europe. Between its castles, forests, valleys and modern cities, the country blends tradition with openness to the world. People from nearly 180 nationalities live and work together, creating a dynamic and forward-looking society. This diverse and multilingual society is a great strength also reflected in the values of solidarity and inclusion that are deeply rooted in our national identity.
For nearly seven decades, Luxembourg has built strong ties with Thailand. Relations between our two countries continue to grow through economic, cultural and academic exchanges. Beyond geographical distance, Luxembourg and Thailand attach the same importance to mutual respect and dialogue.
In a world facing multiple challenges, Luxembourg continues to play an active role on the international stage, convinced that dialogue and partnerships remain essential to building a more peaceful and sustainable future.
Our National Day is much more than a celebration. It is a moment when Luxembourgers and friends of Luxembourg, wherever they may be in the world, remember what unites them. Our history, our traditions, our hope for the future and a quiet but profound feeling of belonging to one family.
Schéinen Nationalfeierdag!
